Summer School is for students who may need academic intervention in certain subject areas. Grades at summer school are substituted for the 2 lowest quarterly averages from the year prior. These grades are then averaged with the test score to come up with a final grade for the course.

Regional Summer School - BOCES II

Summer School will be sending grades directly to the student's home.

    Transportation Information

Students will provide transportation from the WC High School to Regional Summer School and back again.  Students must provide their own ride to the High School. Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the bus leaves:

    • Session I - Bus leaves HS at 7:10am

    • Session II - Bus leaves HS at 9:10am

As a courtesy for students living in the northern part of our district, there will be an additional pick-up/drop-off spot in the Ballantyne neighborhood at the corner of Names Road & Theron Street. Pick-up times are:

    • Session I - 7:20am pick-up

    • Session II - 9:20am pick-up

Any questions about transportation can be directed to Sheryl Guidice (Transportation Director) at 585-889-6243.

  • Any student who did not successfully complete a course with a 65 or higher may be signed up for summer school to ensure they stay on track for graduation.

The WC Counseling Office works with teachers to determine the best courses to register students for in Regional Summer School. Due to the very quick turnaround, students will be automatically enrolled in the courses that have the greatest impact on the student's ability to progress toward graduation. Registration, transportation, and details regarding the enrollment are mailed to the students' homes by the last week in June. Families who choose not to send their children to summer school may send the withdrawal form to the Counseling Office.

Attendance is mandatory and 1 day of attendance in RSS is comparable to 1 week of regular school year attendance. If students miss more than 3 days they will be dropped and have to repeat the course in the next school year.

Grades are important in summer school. The 2 grades from summer school will substitute for the 2 lowest quarter grades from the school year.
