recruitment for band starts in June. Students will begin testing on instruments. If your child is interested in joining band and has missed out on the testing days please contact Mrs. McDougall ASAP at beth_mclean@wheatland.k12.ny.us or by phone at 889-6865. 

 

* Please note that I will have access to email everyday of the week, but I will only be in TJC building Tuesday/Thursdays and half days on Fridays so the best way to get a hold of me is email.

 

Timeline for 5th grade band:

 

June- instrument testing and selection. Band parent information night. This is the night you will get your instrument! Parents must attend to get information on how to rent or purchase an instrument

 

September - Lessons start

 

October: Band Rehearsals begin!

 

November: Perfecting winter concert music

 

December: First concert performance!!! 

 

January: Return from winter break band rehearsals resume

 

February: Preparation for district concert

 

March: MUSIC IN OUR SCHOOLS MONTH! 2nd performance for TJC band students in the HS gym

 

April: Prepare for spring concert

 

May: Spring Concert & Memorial Day parade

 

June: Wrap up school year and prepare to enter the MS!
