Meet Mrs. Hughes

Hello and Welcome to 2nd Grade!

My name is Alison Hughes. I have been teaching at Wheatland-Chili for 14 years, in a variety of capacities. I started my WC journey as a Special Education teacher, made a pit stop in 4th grade and have found myself in 2nd grade for the last 5 years. Every year I tell my class that I am going to stay in 2nd grade forever because it is the BEST! It is a time of immense growth and development and it is my greatest joy to watch the students in my class flourish and find their love of learning. Before my time in Wheatland-Chili, I spent 2 years as a Special Education teacher in the NYC school district.

I grew up right around the corner in Henrietta, where I met my husband while we were in High School. When I am not at school, you can usually find me with my family on a lacrosse field sideline cheering on one of my kids, camping or spending time reading a good book.

This is going to be a GREAT year!
