Mr. Eric Windover
"Show your PRIDE everday!"
Hello and welcome to the Principal's Page.
I am proud to serve the Wheatland-Chili school district, now in my 7th year as 6-12 Principal. The pride our families and school members exhibit is just one small feature of this tremendous community. There are great things happening here everyday and I couldn't be more excited for what the 2021-2022 school year has to offer, despite the continued challenges we face.
Here at the secondary building we use the acronym PRIDE to illustrate the scholarly behaviors that we strive for. Personal Responsibility, Respect, Integrity, Disciplined, and Excellence (PRIDE) are more than words, they are the values that drive both student action and adult modeling. The promotion of these pro-social traits serves as the foundation for our strong school community.
Within our school website you will find a link to our Code of Character, Conduct and Support. Implementation and support of the revised Code involves many layers and our work continues each year. Our Code focuses on the promotion of positive social behaviors and prevention of discipline problems in the classroom, as well as consequences and interventions in a supportive, instructional, and collaborative environment. This year, we are focused on strengthening our restorative practices to further the culture of care we seek to achieve.
In addition to our work with the Code, we are continuing the journey in creating culturally responsive- sustaining environments within our school. Our work seeks to end the disproportionate outcomes identified by the Committee for Growth and Improvement. Though the work ahead is not easy, it is the right work and necessary to ensure that our graduates leave ready for college and career. Together, we will ensure that our district's mission is fulfilled in seeing that we have students that are prepared to excel in a global society.
Please check back often as we work to make this site a dynamic means of communication for parents, as well as a central location for school related resources and information.
As always, please do not hesitate to call me with questions, comments or feedback.
All the best!
