Welcome to Wheatland-Chili Athletics
Welcome from the Athletic Director...
Athletics is an integral part of education. A well-rounded athletic program is vital to the success of our school system. Wheatland-Chili is proud to offer a diverse athletic program that has met with a high level of success. Wheatland-Chili Athletics strives to offer a variety of sports for our student-athletes, teaching each student-athlete the fundamentals of character, teamwork, sand sportsmanship in a fun, healthy and safe environment.
Wheatland-Chili is proud of our school's athletic successes. In 2015-2016, we had three teams earn Section V Championships (Girls' Soccer, Girls' Basketball and Boys' Tennis). Each of these teams were also recognized as a NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete team, showing their committment to representing our school as true student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom. 2016-2017 has started off equally as exciting, with a Section V Championship and a Class D State Championship in Girls' Soccer!
Wheatland-Chili is proud of the high participation rates by our student body. In 2015-2016, over 50% of students participated in a sport each of the three seasons, with 80% of our Senior Class participating in a Varsity-level sport. Students develop athletic skills in working with our outstanding and knowledgeble coaching staff. The staff sets expectations that our athletes will not only develop physical and sport-specific skills, but also benefit from learning lifelong fitness skills, comitting to healthy nutrition and lifestile, and committing to healthy mind, body and spirit through a drug-free lifestlye.
Students may participate in intramural sport activities beginning in sixth grade. Students may participate in interscholastic sports beginning in seventh grade. Please click on the links above for a complete list of sports offered at Wheatland-Chili.
