Welcome to my webpage!  I am Tracy Pasquantonio, School Social Worker for the Wheatland-Chili Central School District.  I have been a Clinical Social Worker for 25 years, completing undergraduate work at the University of New Hampshire and graduate school at Syracuse University.  I have experience in outpatient mental health, day treatment, and many other areas of mental health and social work.  Currently, I am working at the TJ Connor Elementary School.

  • What is a School Social Worker?

    School Social Workers are Mental Health Professionals with a Masters Degree, who have completed supervised training, and are Certified and Licensed by the State of New York.  They are specially trained to provide clinical services to schools and are members of many professional organizations.  School Social Workers assist students, teachers, and families.  They help in managing:  school issues, family concerns, and community problems.

     

    School Social Workers:

    *provide individual, group, and crisis counseling

    *offer academic, social and emotional support to children and their families, as needed

    *assist with behavior management and social skills training

    *collaborate with professional staff regarding student needs 

    *provide crisis intervention and referral services to students and families, as needed

    *conduct assessments and evaluations for general education students as well as the Committee on Special Education (CSE)

    *serve as liason to public agencies, private therapists, and community resources
