Federal Funds - Virtual Community Input Forum

Dear Wheatland-Chili Community,

Next week on Wednesday, June 2nd at 5:00 PM we’ll be holding a virtual public input meeting regarding our utilization of the federal aid we received from Congress this past year. We will be presenting our initial plans and inviting community members to make suggestions, ask questions, and provide feedback.

By way of background, we received $2.7 million in federal grant aid through legislation including the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act, enacted in December 2020, and the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act, enacted in March 2021. This funding is vital to combatting budgeting challenges that school districts and municipalities are facing across the country due to COVID-19. It is to be used on non-recurring COVID related expenses incurred between March 2020 and the 2023-2024, including to address learning loss due to the pandemic.

We are required to submit an application for the use of the CRRSA funds by June 15, 2021. By July 1, 2021, we are required to make our formal plan for the use of the federal stimulus funding available on our website.

We want to hear your thoughts! We hope you can join us or otherwise submit your feedback using this link

Thank you!
